Historical, traditional and picturesque, Arachova is located on the southern slopes of Mount Parnassus, at an altitude of 968m, above the valley of the Pleistos River. On the road to Arachova in the west is the Parnassus Ski Centre in the north. Those who come from Athens, the distance is 153 km. Good accommodation and good food in its famous grill-taverns. It is also renowned for its weavings.
Among the sights stand out the church of St. George with its perimeter and the chapel of St. Spyridon, which have been declared as a historical monument, the Clock on a steep cliff, built in the 18th century as the cathedral bell tower and renovated in 1966, and the monument of Georgios Karaiskakis, general and hero of the Greek Revolution of independence in 1821.
