Fiji Islands

Another dream of a lifetime is the Fiji group of 330 islands in the South Pacific Ocean, of which only one third are inhabited. The two main ones are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Fiji became independent as late as the year 1970 after nearly a century as British colony. Today the place has one of the most developed economies in the South Pacific Islands.

Population is over 860.000 people. Capital city on the island Viti Levu is Suva, where you can have all the amenities of a modern city with banks, insurance companies, hospitals, nightlife and all kinds of restaurants. The climate is tropical with only slight seasonal variations. The main industries are tourism, sugar, copra and lumber.

Fiji islands are a great vacation destination. Heavenly surroundings combined with unsurpassed range of land and water activities. Surfing, diving, big game fishing, as well as the pristine waters, promise endless options and romantic escapes. It’s quite a thrill to be there to sunbathe and walk on sandy beaches along swaying coconut trees. Fiji hotels and resorts are some of the best in the world.

Fiji is also famous for trekking to tropical rain forests, snorkeling over swallow reefs close to the shore and week-long trips around the major islands. Fiji is really unique. It accessible by regular air routes from Europe, England and the United States and offers to visitors a vast choice for holidays, ranging from five star hotels to small island hideaways.
