The fortified medieval harbor!

Nafpaktos, a picturesque coastal town, center of a region with beautiful beaches and traditional mountainous villages, is located on the west side of the northern coast of the Corinthian Gulf, near the big bridge of Rion, which connects the Peloponnese and Central Greece. Some ancient remains and particularly its fortified medieval harbor and castle remind its long history; internationally known for the battle between the Christian and the Turkish fleet on October 7, 1571, when the Christian victory strengthened the morale of Western Europe.
